Celebrating Antique and Contemporary Native American and Other World Art.
Art from the African continent continues to be a tremendous source of represent-ational expressions of the human experience. Originating in the desire of its people to express their spiritual interconnection with the etheric, the art of the differentiated tribes within the African experience resonate with a poignant sharpness. Like other world art genres it has transitioned from its purest form of being produced exclusively for individual spiritual and tribal use to being produced for the collectors market. However even within this transition the art form remains quintessentially directed toward the spiritual experience.
Please enjoy the gallery. We were told thirty years ago that Indigenous African Art would be the next human art form to have its original enigmatic point of purpose become completely lost to time. Although we hope this is not the case, it certainly remains possible due to the abrupt changes occurring within many of their individual societies. How this eventually impacts their art and the messages they wish to impart, only time will tell.
