This beautiful necklace appears to have a mix of great Zuni, and possibly Kewa fetishes. An abundance of bears and birds dazzle in turquoise, jet, abalone and white shell. All of the fetishes with black eyes are definitely Zuni although the more archaically carved may be n the Kewa margin. On the upper portions of the necklace are several flat bears made of a hard glassy material have confounded me as to whether they are hard horn or stone. We really like this example as it wears beautifully.

Measures: 28” and 30: end to end. Largest fetish is 1.5” x .75”. Smallest: .5” × 3/8ths”.

Weighs 76 grams.
