Vintage Zuni very rare Rainbow Man bracelet. Mingo Dooley 1881-1967.

$2,400.00

Mingo Dooley ( 1881-1967) was an artist who, for a very long time, was lost to scholars as the creator of his very distinctive style of Zuni silver art. It is now known that his rare inlay artworks were done in exuberant collaboration with Navajo silversmith Charley Wilson to complete these highly intricate and powerful works of art. These artworks are very hard to find and this is an exciting opportunity to steward this beautiful example.

Measures: 5 & 5/8ths” inside end to end plus an additional 1 & 5/8ths” gap. Maximum width at face is 2”.

Weighs: 78 grams.

Condition is excellent.

Please note that beneath the thigh area of the figure and between the face-plate for the stones and the twisted wire bracelet armature there is a twisted silver support bar where the solder has separated from the twisted wire bracelet, probably from being sized. It is very solid and doesn’t affect the integrity of the bracelet in any way and we have left it as it is just in case the new steward wished to slightly adjust size the bracelet again.
