This remarkable example of the silver art of Fred Peshlakai clearly shows why his artwork is so highly revered. The pierced and cutout back-plate rests securely between the two carinated outside bands which simultaneously creates visual openness in the design while adding strength and durability to the artwork. Five Lone Mountain turquoise stones rest along the plate while seemingly appearing to float above the superstructure in classic Peshlakai form. Individually applied silver raindrops and curled wire-work completed the piece in an intentionally cohesive way that at once appears to the observer as a single unit while drawing the eye to it’s fascinating individual elements. This is a wonderful example that is quintessentially “Peshlakai.”
Measures: 5.5” inside end to end plus an additional 1.25” gap. Maximum height at center is: 1 & 3/16ths”. Weighs: 64 grams.
Condition is excellent. There are two matrix related cracks to the stones, well healed and solid…otherwise fine condition.
